Julia's Book Haven

I love stories, reading them, watching them, and getting lost in them. I read mostly romance, I just like happy endings :)

Currently reading

Si Robertson

Down London Road

Down London Road - Samantha Young I had a hard time rating this one...3.5 maybe 4.For the first like 70% of the book I was loving it, it was going to be a 5 star read for sure. I'm loving Jo, way more than I thought I would. She is an awesome person which you don't expect from the little you see her in Dublin Street. Cam is hot, and sweet and romantic, so there is lots to love about him. I was just in a happy fog of love and hot sex and cuteness. It was great. And then...

Macrieve (Immortals After Dark)

MacRieve - Kresley Cole I absolutely loved MacRieve, I didn't want it to end! I'll be eagerly waiting for the next book in the series. Which will hopefully be out sooner rather then later.
Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) - Tara Sivec FIVE LAUGH OUT LOUD STARS!Oh my god, this is a hilarious book, I pretty much spent the whole book doing this

Entice (Exquisite, #2)

Entice (Exquisite, #2) - Ella Frank 3.5, maybe 4. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed Exquisite. It was good, it just wasn't great for me.

Storm's Heart (Elder Races Series #2)

Storm's Heart - Thea Harrison Ok, so this one was maybe more of a 4 star read but I really loved Tiago so I bumped it to 5 stars. I loved Niniane (Tricks) and Tiago. Their characters were wonderful and their relationship was so well written that is felt very real. Tiago is so freaking sweet, and you don't expect that all at the start of the book. He is basically a soldier, that's all he has been for a very long time, so it was extra special that he was so tender, sweet and funny with Niniane. I loved Niniane to, she had a great sense of humour which helped lighten the story, which was really needed. My only real issue with the book was the storyline going on around Tiago and Niniane, it was a little slow and it took away focus on the relationship. It would have been fine if it was a more interesting storyline, but it was all just court stuff and politics with a few fights thrown in. And the book seemed to end abruptly too. It was like, one last big fight, brief description of the palace, gloss of her coronation, and that's a rap. It just seemed like it was rapped up quick, I don't get why, the book has 20 chapters, if a few more were needed to close the book properly then I think the author should have done that. But, even with all that I did really enjoy the book. Niniane and Tiago are now a favourite couple for me, and I would recommend the book so that people can enjoy their wonderful relationship. I look forward to the next in the series, Rune's book! Yay :)

Dragon Bound (Elder Races Series #1)

Dragon Bound - Thea Harrison I loved this book, I didn't want it to end. I am looking forward to diving into the rest of the series. If they are as good as this one, I will be in PNR heaven :D
Take Me Under (Dangerous Tides, #1) - Rhyannon Byrd Lets start my review with this, I freaking love Ben! He is mine, and no one else can have him! I was seriously like this the whole book...

Heart of Obsidian

Heart of Obsidian - Nalini Singh "It is time to step out of the dark"This book was great, the best in the series so far! For those of you who don't know or haven't guessed this is Kaleb's book. From our previous interactions with Kaleb I was very intrigued but cautious since he didn't come off as good hero martial. Well this book sure showed me not to judge a character before I've read their story. Kaleb was an awesome hero! I loved him. And his leading lady Sahara was perfect for him. She was so strong and yet she never got annoyed with Kaleb's protectiveness. I loved the way she cared for Kaleb, someone who had never had anyone in his life care for him. It was so sweet. There was a lot of stuff happening in this book and it is very fast paced but the relationship never feels rushed. And nothing overshadows the touching love story. At least not for me. This book has definitely become an instant favourite for me. I highly recommend fans of the series to drop what you're doing and read this book right now. If you aren't a fan you should drop everything you're doing and become a fan. **Make sure to start with the first book though**
Inevitable - Angela Graham I really enjoyed this book but I obviously should have checked people's reviews for a warning about that cliff hanger!!! Grr I don't want to wait for the next book, I want to know what happens with Logan and Cassie right now! Other than that though the book was really good. Lots of laughs. I probably had a silly grin on my face for most of the book because of Logan and Cassie's banter. I loved it. I will be impatiently waiting for the next book.

Undeclared (Woodlands, #1)

Undeclared (Woodlands, #1) - Jen Frederick I really loved this book, which I wasn't expecting. Noah is completely swoon worthy. And even though sometimes I wonder why she didn't immediately jump Noah, I liked Grace too. And loved the different storyline. Grace wrote to Noah while he was in the marines as a school project and they kept writing for the next four years. It made the story interesting because even though they meet for the first time at college, they already know so much about each other. I can't wait to read about the rest of the Woodlands guys.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found - Nicole Williams Yay!! There's going to be another book!! More Jesse! Who I am completely in love with. This book was a very pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed it. The author really brought to life the cowboys in this book which was great ;) and she captured ranch life in a way that made me, a person who has very limited experience with ranch life, able to picture the Walker ranch crystal clear. And the characters were wonderful. I'll admit that it took me awhile to warm up to Rowan but that was mostly because I thought she was crazy for not falling onto Jesse as soon as she met him (I might have mentioned I love him) The way the author described Jesses made him come alive for me. I could picture him with his cowboy hat, tight jeans and handsome grin, perfectly. And he was just so damn nice, with just the right touch of rough protective cowboy in there for him to be smoking hot. Like I said, I love him. The secondary characters were also great. I wouldn't mind spending the summer with the Walker family. I loved how accepting they were, they never once judged Rowan for the way she dressed and looked. That's something that more people should try. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is a fan of Romance and NA books. I can't wait for the next book! July hurry up!!!

Rush (The Breathless Trilogy #1)

Rush - Maya Banks This one is probably more of a 3.5 star one for me over all, but the proposal at the end was so spectacular that it bumped it to 4 stars for me. I struggled with the first half of this books because I didn't feel very emotionally connected to Gabe and Mia since all they did was have sex. I swear I don't think they even had a full conversation till the second half of the book lol. That being said, the second half was full of emotion and it drew me right in. I really started to enjoy the story more and enjoy Gabe and Mia more because they became more real to me. This books is similar to FSOG and Bared To You, so if you liked those books you will probably like this one too. I'm very much looking forward to Jace's story and Ash's.

Twisted Perfection (Perfection, #1)

Twisted Perfection (Perfection, #1) - Abbi Glines Love, love, loved it!!! I can't wait to read the next book and see more of Woods and Della and where there lives go together. And I'm looking forward to seeing more of Grant and Tripp too, I hope they get their own books since the author teased us with their messed up back grounds so now I must know! I really liked the story for this book, it was great. Crazy freaking hot and I thought original too. This is my first Abbi Glines book, but not my last, I will definitely be reading more. I highly recommend this to all my Goodreads friends! :)

Raid

Raid - Kristen Ashley I really liked this one. I will say though that I liked Raid but Hanna stole the show for me. She is an awesome character and I loved everything about her. She totally made the book for me. Kristen Ashley is amazing at bringing a character to life with her words, and that is exactly what she did with Hanna. I looks forward to the next book in the series (Although I really hope it isn't Nick's, it's looking like she might give him his own book and I'm not sure about that. He kind of sucks)

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1)

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) - Joanna Wylde I loved this book! I started it a little unsure. I didn't know what to expect since I've never read anything by this author. But it just blew me away! Completely amazing. And as an added bonus I'm a big SOA fan, and its off the air till the new season so this was a great hot bad ass biker fix for me ;)
